God guarantees to exalt His youngsters who live graciously, but we regularly look at our circumstances – finances, job situation, or shortage of material things – and question this pledge.
It is important to see things from God’s perspective rather than from the world’s. God delights to draw us closer and sanction us to serve Him in methods that surpass our capabilities. There are some barriers to our service to God. First, we feel that if certain things don’t occur, we simply can’t continue. Next, we may feel better about ourselves only if we are a “success” by society’s standards. We disregard His Word and choose for ourselves what’s right. Without asking God first, we regard each appearing opportunity as a door He has opened. We may have a shortage of gratitude for what God has given us and this skews our point of view. Due to discontent or envy, we push before God and use manipulation to get what we’d like.
It needs deliberate, continuing effort to stay in God’s presence so we see can how deserving he’s of our total submission. Then wait patiently for His guaranteed blessing.
